Pricing Policy

Your business is important to us and we want you to be a satisfied customer.  We want to do our best to help you to meet your musical goals.

Price Tags and Lists

Each instrument, bow, and case will be marked with a sticker or tag clearly stating the price. A list of repair prices is also available for your inspection.

Pricing

We hope you will agree that we offer excellent sounding instruments, fine bows, skilled repairs, and choice accessories at some of the lowest prices in Seattle.  We want to offer you a good deal, but we also need to stay in business.  Please respect prices as marked; our low prices are not increased to allow for haggling.  However, we will give a 3% discount if you will pay by cash, rather than credit card or check (sales greater than $500 only).

Purchases

We accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover, checks (see below), and cash.

Checks

Regrettably, we have had trouble with fraudulent checks for fairly large sums of money.  Checks must be accompanied by two forms of picture ID, and the person shown on the ID must be present. Signatures on ID and check must match closely. We reserve the right to phone the bank to ask if the check is valid.  Please do not phone and say that someone else is going to bring your check in for a purchase.  Such sales will be declined unless we have known you for a long, long time.

Trials

Home trials of instruments and bows are at our discretion. Items must be returned undamaged by the agreed upon date (generally 5 days or less), or the purchase will be finalized. A valid credit card and WA state driver’s license and must be presented prior to trial, and the trial must be requested and guaranteed by someone 18 years of age or older. Customer is responsible for damage, theft, or loss.  Our insurance does not cover trials.

Guarantees

Instruments: Materials and craftsmanship are guaranteed for one year (accidents and other causes of damage are not included). Strings are excluded. Credit for returns are at our discretion and only if the product appears to be defective and is accompanied by a valid sales receipt.  All sales are final--Refunds are not available.

Bows:  Problems arising in 30 days or less are repaired at no cost (again, accidents are not included).  Any broken or defective parts (including rehairs) must be presented at our Kenmore service counter within 30 days of purchase so that we can verify that a failure has occurred.  We will not pay for repairs done by others. All sales are final--Refunds are not available.

100% Trade-in Allowance makes it easy for players to advance

Your full purchase price (not including sales tax) on a bow, instrument, or case at Kenmore Violins can be traded in towards the value of a more advanced bow, instrument or case.  Note: Offer applies to a one-time upgrade towards the same type of item of equal or greater value.  Combining items is not allowed.  No cash value or credit.  Goods must be returned in the same condition as they were bought, with a valid receipt.

Teacher Commissions

Out of respect for our valued customers, no secret sales commissions to teachers or others will be given.  If your teacher requires a commission we will add it to your sales receipt, out in the open, so everyone knows what is going on.
